This Morgan Silver Dollar has been assessed as being in fine condition and is from years of our choice ((1878-1904, 1921, Fine).

Morgan Dollars are in Fine condition and in varied years depending on our inventory. These coins are official US currency, with a current face value of $1. Each Morgan Dollar consists of 90% silver content. In existence from 1878 through 1904 and then again in 1921, these coins are among the most popular among 90% silver US coin owners. The predecessor to Peace Dollars, Morgan Dollars are well known for both their collector and investor interest.

    Coin Highlights:

    • Consists of 90% silver.
    • Minted by the United States Mint.
    • Minted between 1878-1904 and 1921.
    • Designed by George T. Morgan.
    • Special Morgan design inspired by Anna Willness Williams on the obverse.

We are honored to offer authentic first-edition Morgan Dollars produced by the US Mint. These historic coins are a favorite amongst investors and collectors who appreciate the historical evolution of American coinage.

Both sides of the Morgan Dollar were designed by George T. Morgan for the 1878 issue of the Silver Dollar, though the obverse side was first seen on the 1877 half dollar. His model was Anna Willness Williams. Morgan’s design was innovative for the time, because he desired Lady Liberty to have an American look, which broke the current tradition of Lady Liberty being depicted with a Greek styling. She is encircled by 13 five-pointed stars, the words E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the date.

The reverse of the coin is an updated version of the traditional heraldic eagle that was used for many coins. Morgan’s eagle reflects his studies of living eagles in their natural settings. It is proportionally correct with delicately rendered feathers.

Additionally, the heraldic eagle’s breastplate has been removed. This combination of elements culminates in a very appealing rendition of the American eagle. Morgan also introduced a branch of pine beneath the eagle’s claws, which balanced and completed the composition. The words IN GOD WE TRUST appear above the eagles head. It is encircled with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR.

We are pleased to carry a large inventory of rare, special edition, and limited edition coins in addition to premium quality bullion rounds, and bars. We invite you to browse our generous collection.

Simply click on the circle next to the shipping method you desire, and your order will be shipped via that method.

If my order includes an item on presale, will the in-stock items ship first?+

Unfortunately, due to the way insurance is applied to an order, everything must ship at the same time (i.e., in-stock items must await shipment until all presale items have arrived). Your order will ship in its entirety within 24-72 hours of our receiving the presale item. An email notification will be sent when your order ships.
