If you’re looking to buy gold or silver, perhaps you should look to the refineries of Switzerland. The famously-neutral nation known for its banking systems is also home to some of the world’s leading bullion brands. Among those brands is Valcambi Suisse. Originally founded as Valori & Cambi, a period of ownership under Credit Suisse (another major Swiss refiner) brought the company its modern name of Valcambi Suisse. Today, Valcambi gold and silver for sale are known to investors around the world. Learn a little more about its popular products and innovative designs below!
Similar to many other private mints and refineries around the world, Valcambi’s focus is not on coinage or rounds, but on investment-grade bullion bars. The mint is accredited by the London Bullion Market Association and has COMEX Good Delivery status. The primary products issued by Valcambi Suisse include cast bars and minted ingots. The design elements used on its bars are the same regardless of style, but you can read about that momentarily.
As you shop the silver and gold for sale in the Valcambi Suisse catalog, you’ll find cast gold and silver bars with lower premiums over the spot price of the metal. These are great for bulk purchases. Additionally, you can choose from minted ingots packaged in the latest tamper-evident housing and available with assay cards for peace of mind. Most cast gold bars weight 100 Grams and upward, while the cast silver bars stop at 1 Kilogram. The minted ingots in both metal types come as low as 1 Gram and are generally available up to 100 Grams.
Minted ingots are packaged inside of tamper-evident packaging by Valcambi Suisse that includes an assay card. This assay card verifies the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number of the individual bar. Some of the refinery’s cast bars also come with an assay card, but are typically packaged differently.
Regardless of the type of Valcambi Suisse bar you purchase from JM Bullion, you can expect to find the same designs. On the obverse face of all bars is the Valcambi logo, along with the weight, metal content, and purity of the product. Stamps are also included on this face that reflects the certified assayer’s mark and the individual serial number of the bar. Most Valcambi bars have a two-letter, six-number digit system.
Cast gold and silver bars from Valcambi are produced with a blank reverse. However, minted ingots have the Valcambi Suisse logo in the lower-right field with progressively larger squares emanating out from this point. The name of the refinery is also featured on this side.
Valcambi’s most popular product is the CombiBar. Available in both silver and gold options, the CombiBar enables investors to purchase a bulk amount of either metal and split it down into smaller amounts as necessary. For example, the 50 Gram Valcambi Gold CombiBar is available as a 50 Gram bar labeled as such on one side. Flip it over though, and you’ll notice that there are 50 individual markings for 1 Gram gold bars. You can break down the 50 Gram gold bar into 50 individual 1 Gram bars without any loss of gold purity or metal content.
Founded in Balerna, Switzerland in 1961 as Valori & Cambi, eventual growth and success was spurred by the purchase of the company in 1968 by Credit Suisse. In 2003, the company was sold to European Gold Refineries and was more recently sold to Global Gold Refineries Ltd. in a transaction that was completed by 2017.
