    Our Opportunity:
    The Category Manager will be accountable for the driving the performance of his/her product portfolio. Key areas of responsibility are assortment optimization, new product assessment, product quality, supplier management, cost management, purchasing & inventory management. Key to success is partnership with Pricing, Web Merchandising & Marketing to drive the customer facing strategy. Reporting directly to the Manager of Purchasing within the Procurement organization, this scope of this spans ~ $1Billion in annual purchases across 1,000+ items critical to the success of the JMB portfolio.

    Essential Functions

    • Comprehensive product ownership for area of responsibility measured by KPIs of revenue, margin, productivity & product availability
    • Formulate product strategies for business category based on hindsight recaps, trend research and industry data to deliver performance growth
    • Perform competitive analyses to identify areas of market share opportunity
    • Weekly performance management of items and assortment driving near term results and positioning for future events/needs
    • Key item planning and execution
    • Product lifecycle management, including pre-planning of annual releases and custom product lines resulting in optimal launch, performance management, product flow and exit strategy
    • Promotional item selection and pre-planning, partnering with marketing to execute
    • Supplier management to ensure quality, lead time, costing & assortment
    • Manages inventory through ensuring replenishment parameters maintained and supplier purchase strategy execute to maintain high levels of in-stock while driving productive inventory

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Strong drive for results in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated high levels of accountability
    • Strong business acumen in identifying areas of opportunity and solutions to address
    • Developed computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace

    Experience, Requirements & Education

    • Hybrid work environment role requiring regular on-site attendance
    • College degree required
    • 5 – 10 years of experience in retail purchasing, category management, purchasing, and/or inventory management
    • Precious metals experience is not required
