In 2025, Oklahoma Goldbacks debuted in the broader Goldback collection, following closely after the release of Florida Goldbacks. Like its 2025 compatriot, Oklahoma Goldbacks feature innovative new designs that more accurately capture various eras of history, both indigenous and American, in the state of Oklahoma. And, like the Florida Goldback, the Oklahoma Goldback introduced some new options for buyers.
The Oklahoma Goldback Series offered the new standard array of denominations across the lineup, including 1/2, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 Goldback notes. The Oklahoma Goldback also comes with 100-packs of 1/2 and 1 Goldbacks, a five-piece set with the traditional denominations, and an expanded eight-piece set with the full lineup of new options. A brand-new option available in the Oklahoma Goldback Series is the 3 Goldback Limited Early Release, the first-ever 3 Goldback denomination.
Historically known as “Indian Territory,” Oklahoma served as the destination for the forced relocation of numerous Native American tribes during the 1830s Trail of Tears. The western portion, called Oklahoma Territory, was opened to white settlement through dramatic “land runs” beginning in 1889, most famously the Land Rush of 1889 that saw thousands race to claim homesteads. The discovery of oil in the early 1900s brought wealth and rapid development, and the Indian and Oklahoma territories were combined to form the 46th state in 1907.
