With Hurricane Sandy dumping more than 3 feet of water directly into the New York Stock Exchange, stock trading was diminished heavily for the second day in a row. Today was a positive one for gold and silver as both metals improved, even if only slightly. Gold was up $1.30 and silver improved by a modest nickel.
Some experts are attributing the slight improvement in precious metals to the better than expected news about the Spanish economy, and the euro as well. It is not that the Spanish economy improved so much as it declined at a slightly slower than expected rate this past September. Gold and silver investors are anxiously awaiting a US job report that is expected to be announced towards the end of this week.
Everyone is hoping to see the New York Stock Exchange open tomorrow as it will have heavy implications on the value of gold, as it always does.
