Each one of these sizes are available in brand new, brilliant uncirculated condition and contain the same stunning design as the 1 oz variation of the coin.
Over the years, the Royal Canadian Mint has become a widely recognized name in the precious metals industry by investors and collectors throughout the world. The mint has established a reputation for producing artfully crafted bullion using some of the highest purities available. The Gold Maple Leaf coin series is certainly a fine example. First introduced into the market back in 1979, the one ounce, .999 pure version of the Gold Maple Leaf was an instant success. It’s popularity led to the introduction of a 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz variation of the coin a few years later. They also increased the purity from .999 to .9999 or 24k at that time which it has remained to this day.
Each Gold Maple Leaf coin is struck in .9999 (24k) pure gold, one of the highest gold purities assigned to a gold bullion coin. The obverse of each coin contains a side profile of Queen Elizabeth II along with her name to the top. To the bottom is the coins year of mintage and legal tender value. The reverse side of the coin bears an image of a maple tree leaf in full detail at it’s center. The purity is stamped to either side of the leaf while the the word “Canada” is marked to the top. Along the bottom of the image are the words “Fine Gold” in both English and French and its weight stamp (in troy ounces).
