Among the major holidays that fall in the final months of the calendar year, Thanksgiving is perhaps the least likely to be considered a gift-giving holiday. Halloween has a festive air and plenty of children are “gifted” candy while out Trick-or-Treating. Religious and other secular holidays falling around Christmas are also commonly known as gift-giving holidays, but Thanksgiving is viewed more as a time to gather with family, give thanks, and enjoy a meal. That doesn’t mean you can’t add a little gift-giving to your Thanksgiving celebration though, and JM Bullion has just the right items for you to give this year. As you gather around the table, be prepared to wow your guests with the gift of Thanksgiving silver bullion!
Bring a Feast of Silver
JM Bullion has two major options when it comes to Thanksgiving silver bullion, and both come courtesy of SilverTowne. Located in Indiana, SilverTowne is one of America’s leading private mints producing both generic and custom silver bullion collections each year. SilverTowne really ramps up production during the holiday season, focusing much of its effort on custom silver rounds and silver bars.
First up, the 1 oz SilverTowne Thanksgiving Silver Round is back in 2022 and celebrates the holiday in style with its obverse design. On the obverse of these Thanksgiving silver rounds, you will find a bountiful harvest of fruits and vegetables. The design focuses on two large pumpkins resting behind a bushel of apples. Also included in the design are ears of corn.
If silver rounds aren’t your thing, we’ve got you covered with SilverTowne’s 1 oz SilverTowne Happy Thanksgiving Silver Bar. Though the design is similar to the round, it is noticeably unique in its own right. Elements such as ears of corn, a bushel of apples, and pumpkins feature on the obverse, but are also accompanied by other gourds, other fruits, and a large wheat stalk. The bars also have an inscription wishing all who receive one a Happy Thanksgiving.
Reverse and Details
You will notice that the reverse side of both the silver round and the silver bar have a blank central field. SilverTowne leaves its holiday products, in most cases, blank on the reverse to accommodate custom engraving requests when purchased directly from the mint. You will, however, notice that the bar and round do have decorative borders on the reverse with markings of the weight, metal content, and purity.
The silver rounds come with individual protective flips, tubes of 20, or boxes of 500 rounds, while the silver bars are available in the same array for individual or bulk packaging. In both cases, the boxes of 500 contain 25 tubes of 20 rounds/bars each.
Background on Thanksgiving
Though Thanksgiving, in the United States, is rooted in the history of the first successful harvest by the colonists of the Plymouth Colony in 1621, it can trace its origins back even further. During the reign of King Henry VIII, a festival arose in which the English people would gather for religious services and community feasts to celebrate a successful harvest. This giving of thanks eventually became the holiday of Thanksgiving.
