There is only one US coin design series in the history of the US Mint named for its designers. The Barber Coinage featured a shared Liberty design on the US dime, quarter, and half-dollar denominations from 1892 to 1916. Created by the 6th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, Charles E. Barber, these coins were popular for a time but eventually replaced by even more popular images. Today, 90% Silver Barber Quarters totaling $1 Face Value are available to you online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The birth of the designs in the Barber Coinage actually have roots in the mild public reception for the Morgan Silver Dollar design released in 1878. The public was so underwhelmed by the design of Liberty on the Morgan Silver Dollar that the mint took action within a year by having engravers begin to submit designs for the smaller denominations. However, it would be more than a decade before any change occurred. When it did, the designs eventually came from in-house courtesy of the 6th Chief Engraver of the US Mint.
All of the 90% Silver Barber Quarters in this product listing are available with 90% silver content and 10% copper.
