This $5 face value roll contains a set of pre-1965 Barber silver dimes. These unique dimes bear the name of their designer, Charles E. Barber and were minted by the United States Mint between 1892 and 1916. Because their mintage date precedes the discontinuation of silver currency, they remain among one of the last pieces of silver currency left in existence. With each Barber dime composed from .900 fine silver, the silver content of this $5 roll totals at 3.575 troy ounces. Despite their evident wear due to circulation, every barber dime included in this roll is guaranteed to arrive in good or better condition.
Although Barber kept the artwork for all his coins fairly consistent, there are certain exceptions seen in the design of his dime. For instance, the front image of his dime still provides a classical portrayal of Lady Liberty in her laurel leaves, pileas and engraved headband. However, the original circular border of thirteen stars, which represented the first US colonies, was removed and replaced with a border of inscribed text. This inscription bears both our country’s name as well as the coin’s mintage year.
Barber’s changes to the reverse side of his coin design are more drastic. For this side’s artwork, Barber chose to do away with the heraldic eagle emblem entirely in favor of an agricultural wreath. This closed wreath serves as an arched frame around the coin’s denomination. The different crops that appear on the wreath, such as corn, wheat and cotton, symbolize the distinct agricultural regions of the US. The design was intended as a tribute to our country’s devoted farmers and their many contributions to the American agriculture industry.
This $5 roll of Barber dimes is a charming collectible that demonstrates the artistic innovation of its namesake. To ensure the safe arrival of your order, all packages are covered against any potential theft, loss or damage that may occur during shipping. Insurance and shipping are complimentary.

"Most of the coins were as advertised. However, two of them were so worn that I could not determine the date. I may be wrong, but for a coin to be considered "good" shouldn't the date be readable?"
"Super impressed! Most were pretty worn, but all dates can be read. There were a handful to look up that may be worth grading. My favorite was an 1892-O in very fine condition.
