While it’s important to note that these gold notes are not legal tender, they are voluntary currency. This means that in the state of Wyoming, you can use these gold notes as currency depending on the vendor’s discretion. Each note is created by putting thin layers of gold together between two polymer sheets.
The 5 Piece Wyoming Goldback Gold Note Set will arrive in protective sleeves to preserve the condition of each Goldback in the set. This 5-piece set includes all 5 denominations in the Wyoming Goldback Set. This includes 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50. Each set contains just over 1/11th Troy oz of actual gold content.
The 5 Piece Wyoming Goldback Note Set contains 5 gold notes, each with a unique obverse field. While each design field is different there are some similarities throughout. Each obverse design features the image of a woman, along with at least one animal, and a Latin word. For example, the 1 Wyoming Goldback features a woman wearing indigenous clothes alongside a bald eagle and an American bison. Displayed near her is the word “Reverentia” meaning respect and reverence.
The reverse field of each Goldback in the 5 Piece Wyoming Gold Not Set, displays a mirrored image of that Goldbacks obverse. This is due to the ultra-thin nature of these notes, any design elements on the reverse would potentially alter the obverse design.
