Each of these 5 oz Proof Frank Frazetta Legacy Collection Silver Warrior Silver Rounds was hand fed into the coining presses at the Osborne Mint, and struck up to five times in a manual process that created a mirror finish on the rounds, with a high-relief visual appearance.
The Silver Warrior design from Frazetta is responsible for launching his career on an upward trajectory. It was designed for use as the cover art on the paperback release of “Conan the Barbarian,” and altered the course of the sword and sorcery genre forever.
On the obverse face of each 5 oz Proof Frank Frazetta Legacy Collection Silver Warrior round is the image of the warrior, clad in body armor and riding his sled which is pulled by a team of ferocious bears. Frazetta’s signature is reproduced on this face as well.
The reverse of each silver round features a portrait of a younger Frank Frazetta, as well as the “Seal of Authenticity” from his son’s Frank Jr. Enterprises. Both sides of the round were designed by Italian sculptor Luigi Badia, who was fond of the Frazetta school of design. Frank Jr. oversaw the design and development of these rounds in his father’s honor.
