Between 1895 and 1900, Alphonse Mucha released six different series of artistic panels, or posters, as part of the growth of the Art Nouveau movement. Mucha was a leading artist in the creation of decorative panels, and this would play a significant role in his growing popularity during the period.
Building upon that success, Mucha released two commissioned artworks for the dancer Lygie in 1901. These two designs are known as Ivy and Laurel, and the first of the two to debut was Ivy. The Colorized Ivy Silver Round is now available with the coloration that Mucha used in his original artwork fully on display with these silver rounds.
On the obverse of all 5 oz Proof Colorized Mucha Collection Ivy Silver Rounds is the image of a womans portrait in right-profile relief. Known as Ivy, Mucha captured the vision of Ivy in right-profile relief with ivy intertwined into her hair and a single rose set at the front of her dress.
The reverse of all Mucha Collection Silver Rounds includes a headshot portrait of Mucha taken from a real-life photograph of the Czech artist during the height of his works in the Art Nouveau period, from 1890 to 1910. Engravings include his name, year of birth and death, and the rounds weight, purity, and metal content.
Each of the 5 oz Proof Colorized Mucha Collection Ivy Silver Round arrives inside of a protective plastic capsule, and includes a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. These rounds have edge lettering with their individual serial numbers, which match the COA included with purchase.
All rounds in this collection are from Anonymous Mint, which has the approval of the Mucha Foundation to reproduce his brilliant works through coin creator Julie Lindquist and Italian Master Sculptor Luigi Badia.
