Between 1895 and 1900, Alphonse Mucha released a series of art collections that numbered six in total. These became some of his most famous works, and many were done as poster collections featuring seductive, beautiful women with no text on the panels at all. Many were considered vital in the evolution of the Art Nouveau movement.
Each of the 5 oz Proof Colorized Mucha Collection Dance Silver Rounds have beautiful mirrored finishes to the background field on both the obverse and reverse. All Mucha Collection Silver Rounds include edge lettering with the serial number for each individual rounds, with an included Certificate of Authenticity bearing that same serial number. The colorized finish of these rounds brings to life the original depiction of Dance created by Mucha.
On the reverse of all 5 oz Proof Mucha Collection Dance Silver Rounds is the image of Mucha taken from an actual full-size photograph of the Czech artist. For the round series, a close-up shot of his head was chosen, and is surrounded by engravings of his name, birth year, death year, weight, metal content, and purity of the round.
The obverse side of all 5 oz Proof Mucha Collection Dance Silver Rounds includes the stunning figure of Dance. She is depicted looking back over her shoulder at you, her figure tight as she stands on her tiptoes while her auburn hair flows in the breeze. Muchas original piece was done in pencil and water color, with a later release done on a color lithograph.
Anonymous Mint developed this silver round series with authorization from The Mucha Foundation. The concept for each release was created by coin designer Julie Lindquist and engravings were completed by Italian master sculptor Luigi Badia.
