The Lady of the Forest first appeared on the cover of “Visions of Faery: Volume 1” that was released in 2012. The fairy was designed by Brown in 2011, and provided the cover for the book which featured a collection of watercolor paintings from Brown that included 65 full-color images.
Brown’s career as an artist began as a young child whose love of art blended with her obsession with the fantasy and fairy realm. However, her first true work came in 1997 in a small art gallery. Brown worked in that gallery for years, even contributing her own works to the collection before moving on by 2000 to sell her own artworks online.
The obverse of the 5 oz Antique Amy Brown Collection Lady of the Forest Silver Round features the image of a fairy whose very figure and clothing help her blend into her surroundings. The divine Lady of the Forest wears a dress and boasts impressive, wide wings that reflect the natural surroundings in the background.
On the reverse of the Lady of the Forest Silver Round is Dusk. The common design element across the series, Dusk was created in 2003 and is the fairy of the twilight hours, looking out over the fairy realm as the sun sets. These rounds have an antique polish, which helps bring out the intricate nature of the design details.
