Piracy is often associated with the Caribbean Sea and the so-called Golden Age in the 17th and 18th centuries, but the reality is that pirates existed for centuries prior to that and continue to roam the seas today. The 3 oz MK Barz Pirate Silver Wafer Bar features pirate designs and is available from JM Bullion today.

Pirates first emerged in the form of French corsairs patrolling the waters of the Mediterranean Sea during the Middle Ages. Strapped by tough economic conditions of the era, these men would loot any ship, or opposing ships of the French crown during wartime, for loot and survival. The concept of piracy spread around the world in the following centuries.
MK Barz is a new refinery in the United States that focuses on producing unique products rather than highly refined bars or rounds with identical finishes. All of their products are hand-poured into molds and hand-stamped with engravings to give each one a unique look. In fact, no two 3 oz MK Barz Pirate Silver Wafer Bars are exactly the same.
These particular 3 oz MK Barz Pirate Silver Wafer Bars feature the first pirate design used by the mint. To date, three designs have been released that play on the pirate theme, but this first one focuses on one of the most common piracy images known to man.
On the obverse face of each wafer bar you’ll find the image of a pirate skull with bandana over the top, complete with crossing swords behind the skull. There are engravings on this face that include the bar’s metal content and purity, as well as the mint name.
The reverse of the bar has no design features, and includes only engravings of the mint name, purity of the metal, metal content, and the total weight of the bar.
MK Barz is a private minting facility located in Los Angeles, California. The company was founded in 2014 by an individual with excessive experience in precious metals that includes grading and collection coins over the course of 35 years.
