To recognize America250, the United States Mint is releasing its annual Proof American Silver Eagle with two distinctive features that pay tribute to this important chapter in American history. Today, 2026-W 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins in certified condition are available at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The 1986-S Proof Silver Eagle holds the distinction of being the highest-mintage proof issue in the program’s history, with approximately 1,446,778 coins struck. As the inaugural year of the series, the 1986 Proof benefited from tremendous collector enthusiasm and curiosity about the new program, leading to robust sales that have never been matched in subsequent years. Despite its high mintage, the 1986-S remains a key date for collectors completing the series and continues to command solid premiums over its silver content.

The image shows Liberty in full-length, left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun at the horizon. Draped in the American flag, Liberty extends her right hand while carrying branches of oak and laurel in her left.
The reverse of the 2026-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle Coins features Emily Damstra’s depiction of the American bald eagle. Introduced in 2021, the design portrays the eagle in left-profile relief as it descends with wings raised. The eagle clutches a large oak branch securely in its talons.
