The obverse of the 2026 Australian Silver Lunar Horse features an effigy of King Charles III. Presented in left-facing profile, His Majesty appears without a crown. This design represents the first appearance of King Charles III on an Australian coin and was created by artist Dan Thorne.

On the reverse of the 2026 1 oz Silver Lunar Horse Coin, the Perth Mint depicts a mare and her foal in motion as they run across open grasslands, set against a distant mountain range. The reverse design was created by Ing Ing Jong, who began contributing lunar-inspired artwork to The Perth Mint in 2013.
