The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf made its debut in 1988 and has become one of the most sought-after silver bullion coins produced by a sovereign mint. Arriving nearly ten years after the Gold Maple Leaf’s introduction in 1979, it was the first silver coin from a major industrialized nation to be issued with a purity of .9999 silver. Right now, 2026 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Monster Boxes are available from JM Bullion.
Coin Box Highlights:
Each 2026 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Monster Box contains a total of 500 Silver Maple Leaf Coins. The coins are housed in multiples of 25 within 20 individual tubes inside the box. All coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins all feature a laser-engraved maple leaf privy on the reverse.
Silver maple leaves typically feature three prominent lobes with two smaller basal lobes, connected by smooth, rounded sinuses rather than the sharp indentations found in other maple species. Seasonal variations are equally striking, as the leaves transform from bright green in spring and summer to brilliant yellows, oranges, and reds in autumn due to the breakdown of chlorophyll and the prominence of carotenoids and anthocyanins.
The obverse of the 2026 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf presents a portrait of King Charles III. This new left-profile effigy, introduced in 2024, shows the King without a crown and was designed by Canadian artist Steven Rosati for use on RCM coinage.
On the reverse of the 2026 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Coin, the Royal Canadian Mint continues to feature the iconic sugar maple leaf design. Originally crafted in 1979 by Walter Ott for the inaugural Gold Maple Leaf release, this image has remained consistent and is shared across the Silver Maple Leaf series as well as the Mint’s platinum and palladium bullion coins.
