Modern American Gold Eagles include a reverse design created by Jennie Norris featuring the American bald eagle. Her concept was one of thirty-nine designs submitted for consideration by the Commission on Fine Arts (CFA) and the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) in 2020. While the CCAC recommended Norris’ design for use on the Silver Eagle, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin ultimately selected her design for the reverse of the Gold Eagle.
