To celebrate this achievement, the Mint highlights the Gold Eagle Series’ 40th anniversary in 2026 with its recognizable designs on the established lineup of 22-karat gold coins. Today, 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins in certified condition are available at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The 1/4 oz gold coin has been produced primarily at the West Point Mint, with proof and uncirculated versions enhancing its appeal to numismatists. Throughout its history, the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle has remained a steady performer in the American Gold Eagle family, bridging the gap between the smallest 1/10 oz coins and the larger half-ounce denomination.
All 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins available here are in individual slabs and arrive in perfect condition. MS70 coins have full, original mint luster and no visible detractions. First Strike coins are those received for certification within 30 days of release from the mint.
The obverse of the 2026 American Gold Eagle carries the timeless Lady Liberty image crafted in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Originally created for the $20 Double Eagle, this full-length depiction shows Liberty walking forward toward the viewer, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
On the reverse of the 2026 1/4 oz Gold Eagles, you’ll find the current bald eagle portrait by Jennie Norris. Designed in 2020 and first issued in 2021, the artwork presents a sharply detailed left-profile view of the eagle’s head in relief.
