On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress laid the foundation for what would become the United States Navy by commissioning a fleet to aid in the fight for independence. Using repurposed merchant ships, this Continental Navy set out to disrupt British logistics and counter the Royal Navy’s power along the colonies’ shores. In recognition of the Navy’s 250th anniversary in October 2025, the United States Mint has issued a Proof Silver Eagle with a US Navy Privy Mark. Each 2025-S 1 oz Proof Navy Privy American Silver Eagle Coin comes in near-perfect condition. PF69 coins exhibit full, original mint luster with no more than two detractions.
