In 2021, the United States Mint reintroduced two of its most beloved silver dollar designs. The return of the Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar designs coincided with the centennial of both the final circulation issue of the Morgan Dollar and the first circulation issue of the Peace Dollar. The US Mint continues to release these modern silver bullion dollar coins for collectors and investors, showcasing the iconic designs of these 20th-century silver dollars. Each of the 2025 Peace Silver Dollars offered here comes individually packaged by the United States Mint. The coins are housed in capsules and presented in a blue US Mint box. The box is housed in a Peace Dollar-themed shipper with a Certificate of Authenticity included.
As the United States Mint looked to restart silver dollar production following World War I, it was faced with a short timeline and a discussion on what kind of design should feature on the new coins. The decision was made to resume silver dollar production using the historic Morgan Dollar visuals while an artistic competition was held to find a new design set. In December 1921, Anthony de Francisci’s new Liberty and Eagle designs were struck for the first time as the Peace Dollar made its debut.
The obverse of 2025 Peace Dollar Coins comes with a left-profile portrait of Lady Liberty. This unique design showcases Liberty with her hair in a bun as a few strands blow in the breeze at the side of her face. She is shown wearing a towering crown of light.
On the reverse of 2025 Peace Silver Dollars, you’ll find the image of the American bald eagle. This design shows a mighty eagle perched at peace on a rock ledge with its wings at its side. As the eagle gazes off into the distance, the sun rises on the horizon and casts rays of sunlight toward the center of the design field.
