In celebration of two iconic American coin designs, the United States Mint reissued the Morgan and Peace Dollars in 2021. Their reappearance marked 100 years since the Morgan Dollar was last issued for circulation and the Peace Dollar was first released. The US Mint continues to produce these silver bullion dollars in tribute to the classic imagery that defined early 20th-century coinage. Peace Silver Dollars were originally minted in two distinct periods: the initial run from 1921 to 1928, and a brief revival from 1934 to 1935. The 1921 coins featured a high relief design that proved difficult to strike properly, leading to a modified lower relief version beginning in 1922 that continued through 1928, after which production ceased due to reduced demand for silver dollars.
On the obverse of the 2025 Peace Dollar, Liberty is shown in profile facing left. Her hair is tied back, with several locks flowing freely along her face. She wears a tall crown representing rays of light.
The reverse of the 2025 Peace Silver Dollar features the American bald eagle perched on a rock. The bird appears calm, with wings lowered and head turned toward the horizon. Sunlight rises behind it, casting beams of light that spread across the background.
