Since its debut in 1986, the American Silver Eagle has served as a foundation of the United States Mint’s annual bullion lineup. For close to forty years, the series maintained the same overall format—until 2024 introduced a privy mark on a Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) issue for the first time. That initial release, the 2024 Star Privy, represented a notable development for the program. In 2025, the series moves forward with the introduction of the new Eagle Privy design. Each 2025 (P) 1 oz Eagle Privy American Silver Eagle Coin available here comes in perfect condition. MS70 coins exhibit full, original mint luster and have no visible detractions. These coins are from the first 50,000 issued in the 2025 Eagle Privy release. Each one comes with an ERA label in the slab, a special label that was designed by the NGC, in partnership with the US Mint and game developer Nice Gang.
The Eagle Privy American Silver Eagle is one of two issues from the US Mint that qualify for the ERA label from the NGC. The Star Privy American Silver Eagle, from 2024, is the other American Eagle offering that can be packaged with this label. The Star Privy and Eagle Privy were the first Silver Eagles in US Mint history to feature privy marks, and both share the lowest BU Silver Eagle mintage figure.
On the obverse of the 2025 (P) Eagle Privy American Silver Eagle is Adolph A. Weinman’s enduring Walking Liberty design, first introduced on U.S. coinage in 1916. Lady Liberty is shown moving confidently toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag, as she carries branches of oak and laurel. For this release, the 2025 Eagle Privy appears in the lower-right field of the design. Beyond its formal role as a national emblem, the bald eagle carries lasting cultural meaning in the United States. The image of the bird—its white head set against a deep blue sky and its broad wings extended in flight—continues to represent shared ideals that connect Americans across regions and viewpoints.
The reverse of the 2025 (P) 1 oz Eagle Privy Silver Eagle Coin displays the modern bald eagle design created by Emily Damstra. Introduced in 2021, this depiction presents a left-facing eagle holding an oak branch in its talons, with its wings rising upward in a natural stance. The design reflects the character of the species while reinforcing its established role in American symbolism.
