The relaunch of the Morgan Silver Dollar and the Peace Silver Dollar in 2021 coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Morgan’s final release and the Peace Dollar’s first release, both of which occurred in 1921. Each of the 2025 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins available here comes in individual packaging. The coins are packaged in plastic capsules and offered inside a US Mint presentation box. The box ships with a Morgan Dollar-themed outer sleeve and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the US Mint.
Morgan Silver Dollars were introduced by the United States Mint in 1878. The introduction of the Morgan Dollar marked the restart of silver dollar coining in the United States after a five-year hiatus. The coin design replaced the Seated Liberty Dollar that was in production from 1838 until 1873. The Morgan would remain in production annually through 1904 and return in 1921 for 11 months.
The obverse of the 2025 Morgan Dollar Coin comes with George T. Morgan’s original portrait of Liberty. This classical left-profile relief depicts Liberty with flowing hair and a Phrygian cap on her head. She also wears a laurel wreath crown and a coronet. There are 13 stars on this side of the coin as well.
On the reverse of 2025 Morgan Silver Dollars, you will find Morgan’s depiction of the heraldic eagle. This design shows a front-facing bald eagle with spread wings. The talons of the eagle clutch the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
