The Greyhound of Richmond was an important heraldic emblem linked to the House of Tudor, particularly through Edmund Tudor, 1st Earl of Richmond and father of King Henry VII. This white greyhound was depicted as an elegant and dignified animal, often shown either standing or in a running position known as "courant." It was frequently illustrated wearing a collar adorned with the Tudor rose.
