This powerful symbol emerged during Mexico’s turbulent 19th century as the country fought to establish its identity following independence from Spain.
The obverse of 2025 Mexican Silver Libertads comes with the image of the Mexican coat of arms. The national seal consists of a golden eagle on a prickly pear cactus with a serpent in its talons and beak. On the 1 oz silver and larger coins, you’ll also find 10 historic versions of the Mexican seal arranged in a circle.
