On the obverse of 2025 Somalia Gold Elephants, you’ll find the Somali coat of arms. The national emblem for Somalia consists of a crowned shield that features a single star at the center, similar to the national flag. This star is set against a background of horizontal lines, with the shield supported on either side by a leopard.

The design features a large, mature bush elephant with long tusks marching forward across the African savanna. There is a patch of brush in the foreground and a lone tree in the distance. The sun rises into the sky in the upper-left portion of the design field.
