The 1/2 oz Silver Lunar Snake Coin has an unlimited mintage, with Perth Mint set to strike the coins to meet demand until the next release in the series is available. The coins are individually packaged in plastic capsules, offered in sealed rolls of 20 coins, or in boxes of 100 coins with five rolls inside.
The Chinese zodiac, or Shengxiao, is a repeating 12-year cycle of animal signs and their ascribed attributes. Among these 12 animals is the snake, which is the sixth sign in the zodiac calendar. The Year of the Snake occurs every 12 years, with the most recent being 2013 and the next coming in 2025.
His Majesty King Charles III is featured on the obverse of 2025 Australian Silver Lunar Snakes. This is Charles III’s debut in the Lunar Series program and this left-profile relief was created by Dan Thorne.
