Introduced in 1986, the American Gold Eagle Coin Series features enduring symbols of American freedom and democracy. The coins have long featured Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ effigy of Lady Liberty on the obverse, with the American bald eagle displayed on the reverse of each coin. Today, certified 2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Since being introduced in 1986, the Gold Eagle Coins have featured designs of the American bald eagle on the reverse. The deep cultural significance of the bald eagle in North America predates European settlement by centuries, adding layers of meaning to its later adoption as a national symbol. The eagle’s ability to fly higher than any other bird made it a natural symbol of spiritual elevation and connection to the divine.
All 2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins offered here come in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins have full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detractions. Examples of possible flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines. These flaws must be located outside the primary focal points. Early Release coins are those received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
On the obverse of 2025 American Gold Eagles is a historic vision of Lady Liberty. Saint-Gaudens’ created this visual in 1907 for the $20 Double Eagle. It captures Lady Liberty’s full-length figure in front-facing relief with sun rays behind her and the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet.
The reverse side of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin comes with an image of the American bald eagle. Recently redesigned by Jennie Norris in 2020, this image debuted in mid-2021. It shows the head of the bald eagle in left-profile relief.
