The Mexican Mint first introduced Silver Libertad bullion coins in 1982 with the release of a 1 oz silver BU coin. A year later, in 1983, the series expanded to include a 1 oz proof silver coin. Beginning in 1986, Proof Silver Libertads became an annual offering, and throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, additional weights, both smaller and larger than 1 oz, were added to the collection. Right now, 2025 1/10 oz Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coins in perfect condition are available from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2025 1/10 oz Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coin available here comes in a plastic slab with a perfect certification from the PCGS. PR70 coins exhibit full, original mint luster and have no visible detracting flaws.
The 2025 Silver Libertad Series from the Mexican Mint experienced an extreme drop in production. Due to market conditions and other factors, the Mexican Mint has severely curtailed the volume of Silver Libertads produced. Many of the coins feature record-low mintages. While these 1/10 oz Proof Silver Libertads have a low mintage at only 1,500 coins, this particular issue does not set a new record low for this weight.
The obverse of the 2025 Proof Mexican Silver Libertad displays Mexico’s modern coat of arms, featuring a golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus while battling a serpent. For the 1 oz, 2 oz, and 5 oz silver coins, this image is encircled by 10 historic versions of the national emblem. Fractional-ounce coins, including the 1/10 oz, do not include the surrounding ring of historic designs.
On the reverse of the 2025 1/10 oz Proof Silver Libertad Coin, the well-known Winged Victory design is shown. This figure stands atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column, with the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes visible in the background, creating a striking and symbolic scene.
