On the obverse of 2025 British Gold The Lion and The Eagle Coins, you will find Martin Jennings’ effigy of King Charles III. His Majesty is shown here in left-profile relief and is depicted without a crown, both of which offer a change from portraits of his predecessor, Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen, Charles III’s mother, was always depicted in right-profile relief with a crown or tiara.

The reverse side of the 2025 1/10 oz Gold The Lion and The Eagle Coin comes with an image of the two namesake symbols of the nations. The American bald eagle is perched in the foreground with its gaze fixed to the right. The British Lion is in the background and is shown in right-profile relief with its right forepaw extending beyond the central design field.
