The newest member of the American Eagle bullion family is the American Palladium Eagle. Introduced in 2017, the Palladium Eagle features two designs from Adolph A. Weinman, the most notable being his Winged Liberty design from the 1916 Mercury Dime. Today, the 2024-W 1 oz Proof American Palladium Eagle Coin is available at JM Bullion.

Adolph A. Weinman, a German-born American sculptor, created the Winged Liberty design in 1916 as part of a broader initiative to refresh American coinage. This design, which adorned the ten-cent piece from 1916 to 1945, is often referred to as the “Mercury Dime” due to a widespread misidentification of the central figure.
All 2024-W 1 oz Proof American Palladium Eagle Coins are available with presentation packaging from the United States Mint. The coin is directly held in a plastic capsule and is set within a United States Mint display box. The coin and box come with a Palladium Eagle-themed outer shipper. There is a Certificate of Authenticity included with each coin.
On the obverse of 2024 Proof American Palladium Eagles, you will find Weinman’s popular Winged Liberty. While the American public of the day often referred to the figure as Mercury, in reality, the image depicts a young Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, a symbol of freedom, with small wings attached to represent freedom of thought.
The reverse side of the 2024 1 oz Proof Palladium Eagle Coin comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. Weinman also created this visual, though it was developed in 1907 for the American Institute of Architects Gold Medal and shows an eagle perched on a branch with its wings raised.
