Introduced in 2006, the Burnished Silver Eagle is the most recent addition to the US Mint’s flagship bullion collection. Silver Eagles were first struck in 1986 and were only available in BU and Proof versions at that time. The addition of the Burnished Silver Eagle added a second numismatic option for collectors. Today, certified-perfect 2024-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins are available from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Burnished Eagles are available only in the Gold Eagle and Silver Eagle Series. These coins were introduced in 2006 with four weights in the gold series and the traditional 1 oz option in the silver series. After a hiatus in 2009 and 2010, Burnished Eagles returned in 2011, with the same silver option and a reduced offering in the gold series consisting of only a 1 oz coin.
All 2024-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins are available here with plastic slabs and boast SP70 grades from the PCGS. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws. First Day of Issue coins are those received by the PCGS for certification within 24 hours of release from the mint.
On the obverse of the 2024-W Burnished American Silver Eagles, you will find Walking Liberty. This image was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and first featured on the US Half Dollar until 1947. It depicts Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand outstretched and the American flag draped around her figure.
The reverse side of 2024-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagle Coins comes with an image of the American bald eagle. Newly redesigned in 2021, this image from Emily Damstra depicts the eagle in flight as it swoops down with flexed wings and its talons clutching an oak branch.
