The Burnished Silver Eagle was introduced in 2006 as part of the US Mint’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of the American Eagle Series. Together with its gold counterpart, the Burnished Silver Eagle was produced from 2006 to 2008, suspended in 2009 and 2010, and relaunched in 2011.
For the obverse of the 2024-W Burnished American Silver Eagle, the mint features Adolph A. Weinman’s historic image of Lady Liberty. Known as Walking Liberty, she is shown in left-profile relief with the American flag draped around her figure. The sun is present on the horizon as it crests a mountain peak.
On the reverse of 2024-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagle Coins, you’ll find a design created in 2020 for the Silver Eagle. This new image of the American bald eagle was created by Emily Damstra and debuted on the coins in 2021 for the 35th anniversary of the series.
