The obverse side of the 2024-W 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagle Coin features the iconic Lady Liberty design. This unique design, which was created in 1907, shows Lady Liberty walking toward the viewer. Liberty is holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.
The reverse side of the 2024-W Proof American Gold Eagle Coin features the bald eagle portrait of Jennie Norris. This image, which was first used in 2021, showcases a close-up portrait of a bald eagle in left-profile relief.
Your 2024-W 1/4 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coin will arrive in a display box from the US Mint. Also included with your purchase is a Certificate of Authenticity. On the obverse is a “W” mint mark which indicates that these coins were produced at the West Point Mint.
While Proof American Gold Eagles debuted in 1986, the 1/4 oz weight was introduced in 1988. The 1/4 oz coin has been issued annually every year since its debut, except for 2009 due to economic uncertainty. In 2021, the series underwent a major change when the well-known Miley Busiek image on the reverse was changed to the new Jennie Norris design.
