When the United States Mint introduced the American Silver Eagle in 1986, the San Francisco Mint was the branch responsible for coining both the BU and Proof versions of the coin. From 1986 to 1992, the Proof Silver Eagle was exclusively struck by the San Francisco Mint with an S mint mark. In 2019, San Francisco began producing Proof Silver Eagles on an annual basis once again. Today, 2024-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins are available at JM Bullion.

Throughout the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, production of Proof Silver Eagles shifted around the branch mints of the US Mint. From 1993 to 2000, the Philadelphia Mint exclusively struck the coins for the US Mint. From 2001 to 2018, the West Point Mint was the only mint striking the coins. In 2019, the San Francisco Mint resumed production, offering S-Proof Silver Eagles annually as a supplement to the W-Proof Silver Eagles still struck by the West Point Mint.
All 2024-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins are available here with plastic capsules. The coin arrives in a US Mint box with a themed outer shipper. Each coin has a Certificate of Authenticity from the US Mint. The coins have frosted design elements overlaying deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
On the obverse of 2024-S Proof American Silver Eagles is Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty. Created in 1916, this full-length relief shows Liberty’s figure in left-profile view as she walks toward the sun on the horizon. Her right hand is extended as she carries the branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The American flag is draped around her figure.
The reverse side of the 2024-S 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle Coin features a modern depiction of the American bald eagle. In July 2021, the US Mint introduced this new bald eagle design from Emily Damstra that shows the eagle in left-profile relief as it swoops downward with raised wings and talons clutching an oak branch.

“I just received my order, and the 2 coins I received have a W mint mark and not S per order and Certificate in the box. Currently working with customer service to resolve. Very disappointing, been doing business with you for years.”
