The Proof Mexican Libertad Series consists of gold and silver bullion coins. In the silver program, the Proof Libertad is available across all eight weights, but the most unique option is the 5-coin set. This set combines the five longest-running weights into a single offering each year with a beautiful presentation case. Today, 2024 Proof Mexican Silver Libertad 5-Coin Sets are available at JM Bullion.
Coin Set Highlights:
Proof Silver Libertads were introduced by the Mexican Mint in 1983, but the series did not become established as an annual collection until 1986, and even then it was with only a 1 oz silver coin. Fractional ounces were introduced in 1992, followed by 2 oz and 5 oz coins in 1996. The final addition was a 1 Kilo coin in 2002.
All 2024 Proof Mexican Silver Libertad 5-Coin Sets come with a total of five 2024 Proof Silver Libertads. In the set, you will find the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz silver coins from this year’s proof release. Each coin is individually encapsulated and the five coins arrive together in a wooden presentation box. The coins offer frosted design elements against mirrored background fields.
The obverse of each 2024 Proof Silver Libertad Coin comes with a depiction of the Mexican coat of arms. All five coins feature the modern seal with a powerful golden eagle battling a serpent on a prickly pear cactus. On the 1 oz silver coin, you will also find 10 historic versions of the national seal encircling the modern emblem.
On the reverse of 2024 Proof Mexican Silver Libertads, the image of Winged Victory is featured. Her effigy is shown here as it appears on the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. Her winged figure holds a laurel wreath in the right hand and clutches broken chains in the left. The mountains of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl appear in the distance.
