The Peace Silver Dollar made its return as a bullion coin in 2021, celebrating a century since the design’s debut. While the coin was not released in 2022, it was brought back in 2023 and now again in 2024. With the classic artwork of Anthony de Francisci, the series offers collectors and investors a modern edition of a historic U.S. Mint coin. Coin Highlights:
Each 2024 Peace Silver Dollar Coin available here is housed in a plastic slab and comes with a Mint State 69 certification from the PCGS or NGC. Coins with this grade exhibit full, original mint luster and have no more than two minor detractions. These flaws are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be outside the primary focal points. Please note that we can neither guarantee a PCGS or NGC grade for your coin, nor the color/design of the label in the slab. All items are chosen at random.
The Peace Dollar was originally issued from 1921 to 1935, with no coins struck between 1929 and 1933. Created under the Pittman Act of 1918, the coin was intended to commemorate peace after World War I. In 2021, the U.S. Mint revived the Peace Dollar for the 100th anniversary of its original issue.
On the obverse of the 2024 Peace Dollar Coin, Liberty appears in left-profile relief with a radiant crown atop her head. Her hair flows freely around her portrait, accompanied by inscriptions of the coin’s identity.
The reverse of 2024 Peace Silver Dollars displays a bald eagle perched on a rock. Shown in right-profile relief, the eagle is illuminated by sunlight rising in the background. Additional identifying marks of the coin complete the design.
