In 2021, the United States Mint celebrated an important centennial for its historic silver dollars. The Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollars were the last circulation silver dollar designs in the United States. In a unique changeover in American coining history, both designs were struck in the same year back in 1921 as the US Mint phased out the Morgan Dollar in favor of the new Peace Dollar. Now, 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available online at JM Bullion in certified condition.

In 1904, the United States Mint halted the production of silver dollars for circulation, bringing an end to the Morgan Dollar design series. In 1918, legislation was passed by Congress to authorize a restart of silver dollar coining, but it would not occur until 1921. When the US Mint resumed coining, the Morgan Dollar design was chosen to restart the program.
The coin’s original designer, George T. Morgan, was now serving as the 7th Chief Engraver in 1921 and he had to recreate his original dies from 1878 to facilitate coining. The Morgan Dollar was struck through mid-December 1921 until the US Mint had its new design, the Peace Dollar, ready for production. 2021 marked a centennial for each coin, with the final Morgan Dollars and the first-ever Peace Dollars.
On the obverse of 2024 Morgan Silver Dollars, you’ll find a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. Created in 1878, this Greco-Roman portrait shows Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap on her head with the coronet crown and laurel wreath in her hair.
The reverse side of the 2024 Morgan Dollar Coin comes with another of Morgan’s designs. This version of the heraldic eagle shows a front-facing American bald eagle with widespread wings. In its talons, the eagle clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
These 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins showcase full, original mint luster and have no more than two minor detractions. These detractions are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be outside the primary focal points. First Strike coins are those the PCGS receives for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
