The modern Morgan Silver Dollar made its debut in 2021. The United States Mint revived two of its most popular silver dollar designs in 1921 to mark the centennial of the final strike of the Morgan Dollar, along with a modern Peace Dollar to mark the centennial of its first strike back in 1921. Today, 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins in perfect condition are available from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The Morgan Silver Dollar, last struck for circulation use in 1921, was created and named for George T. Morgan. He came to the United States from the United Kingdom at the invitation of the US Mint’s Director. He would serve as an Assistant Engraver, creating coins like the Morgan Dollar, until 1917. In 1917, he succeeded Charles E. Barber as the 7th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, a position he held until his death in 1925.
All 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available here in perfect condition. Mint State 70 coins have full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws. The First Day of Issue designation is for coins that were received for grading within 24 hours of release by the US Mint.
On the obverse of 2024 Morgan Dollar Coins, you will find George T. Morgan’s depiction of Lady Liberty. This left-profile relief adheres to the classic Greco-Roman design concepts of American coins in the 19th century. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap with a coronet crown and a laurel wreath on her head.
The reverse side of the 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar comes with another design from Morgan. A unique version of the heraldic eagle, this visual shows the eagle in front-facing relief with its wings spread wide to either side. The eagle’s talons clutch the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
