The United States Mint brought back the beloved Morgan Silver Dollar in 2021 as a commemorative silver coin. Originally struck from 90% silver in 1878, the last issue of the Morgan Dollar came in 1921. To honor the centennial of that strike, the US mint introduced the 99.9% Morgan Silver Dollar in 2021. Today, 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins in certified condition are available at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Morgan Silver Dollars were reintroduced in 2021 by the United States Mint alongside the Peace Silver Dollar. Both coins are bullion specimens with .999 pure silver. The 2021 relaunch of these beloved designs coincides with the centennial date of 1921. It was in 1921 that the US Mint resumed silver dollar coining for the first time since 1904. This year marked the last strike of Morgan Silver Dollars and the first strike of Peace Silver Dollars, with the latter replacing the former in December 1921.
All 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins available here come in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two flaws. These minor flaws are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside the primary focal points. Early Release coins are those that were received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
On the obverse of the 2024 Morgan Dollar Coin is a depiction of Liberty. This left-profile bust was created in 1878 by George T. Morgan. It depicts Liberty wearing a coronet crown, a laurel wreath, and a Phrygian cap on her head.
The reverse side of 2024 Morgan Silver Dollars comes with an image of the heraldic eagle. Also designed in 1878 by George T. Morgan, the design includes a front-facing eagle with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons.
