The area now known as Bombay Hook has a rich human history dating back thousands of years. Native American tribes, including the Lenape, used the area for hunting and fishing. The name “Bombay Hook” is believed to be derived from “Bompies Hoeck,” Dutch for “little-tree point.” In the 18th and 19th centuries, the area was used for farming and harvesting salt hay. Remnants of this history can still be seen in the form of old buildings and structures within the refuge.
All 2024 1 oz Proof Native America the Beautiful Delaware Silver Coins are available with a capsule. The coin and capsule are presented in a display box and come with a Certificate of Authenticity included. The coins have frosted design elements with mirrored background fields.

The National Wildlife Refuge is located on the eastern coast of Kent County, Delaware. It was established in 1937 as a refuge and breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife. The refuge covers approximately 16,251 acres along the Delaware Bay.
The reverse side of the 2024 1 oz Proof Delaware Silver Coin comes with a common design element used for all coins in the series. The design shows the head of an American bald eagle at the center of an eight-pointed star. Around the star, you’ll find arrowheads between each of the eight points in the star.
