Mexican Gold Libertads have an intriguing history. They debuted in 1981 and weren’t issued again until 1991. They then were struck annually from 1991 to 1994, before making a comeback in 2000. The Mexican Gold Libertad debuted in 1981 with a 1 oz coin, a 1/2 oz coin, and a 1/4 oz coin being available. Two smaller fractional-ounce coins were added in 1991 when Gold Libertads came back. The 1 oz coin is the only size to be issued every year since it debuted. The 1 oz size is the largest gold size available in the series.
Your 2024 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coin will arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins are sealed in protective plastic flips, with larger orders coming in tubes of 10 coins. While these coins lack a traditional face value, the metal purity and content of each coin is backed by Banco de Mexico.
The obverse of the 2024 1 oz Mexican Libertad Coin shows the Mexican coat of arms. This emblem, which shows a golden eagle holding a rattlesnake in its talons and beak, is shown in the center. Surrounding this are the previous 10 Mexican coats of arms.
The reverse of the 2024 Mexican Gold Libertad Coin features a depiction of Winged Victory. The statue is shown in a three-quarter profile holding broken chains in one hand and a wreath crown in the other. In the background, we can see the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl mountains.
