These horses are descendants of escaped or released domestic horses that were brought to Australia by European settlers in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Over time, these horses adapted to the harsh Australian environment and developed unique characteristics that set them apart from their domesticated ancestors.

All 2024 1 oz Australian Brumby Silver Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are individually packaged in acrylic capsules and come with options for multiples of 20 or 100 coins. This left-profile relief was created by Dan Thorne and debuted on Australian coins in 2024. This first-generation bust of His Majesty lacks a crown.

The reverse side of the 2024 1 oz Brumby Silver Coin comes with the image of a horse on a barren landscape. The background field features lightning bolts streaking across the sky.
