American Silver Eagles are among the most popular silver coin in the world. Upon their debut in 1986, they were released in BU condition as well as proofs. However, in 2006 with their rising popularity, the US Mint introduced an alternative collectible in the series, a Burnished version. They’ve been available every year since 2006 except for 2009 and 2010. JM Bullion is happy to bring you 2023-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins today for purchase.
Coin Highlights:
Burnished American Silver Eagles debuted in 2006 as part of the 20th anniversary of the series. The United States Mint suspended the Burnished American Silver Eagles in 2009 and 2010 to focus all of its availability on BU coins due to the housing crisis. In 2021, with the arrival of Emily Damstra’s new flying eagle design, the United States Mint only released Burnished versions in the latter half of 2021.
2023-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagles will arrive in PCGS protective plastic slabs. The SP70 certification indicates the coins exhibit full, original mint luster with no detractions of any kind. The First Strike designation indicates the coins were received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
The obverse field of all 2023-W Burnished American Silver Eagles features Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty on the obverse. This design was initially commissioned to be featured on the 1916 Half-dollar from the US Mint. The design features Liberty donning the American flag whilst holding oaken branches in her left arm. She’s confidently making her way toward the sunset.
Emily Damstra’s new flying eagle design is showcased on the reverse field of 2023-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagles. This new design, which replaced the heraldic eagle of John Mercanti, shows the bald eagle swooping in holding an oak branch in its talons. Identifying marks of the coin surround this image.
