Coin Highlights:
The obverse field of 2023-W Burnished American Silver Eagles features the timeless Walking Liberty design from Adolph A. Weinman. This iconic design was first used by the US Mint on the half-dollar in 1916. Liberty is shown donning the American flag with oaken branches in her left arm making her way to the sun.
Emily Damstra’s flying eagle design is shown on the reverse field of all 2023-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagles. This new design replaces the heraldic eagle which ran on the reverse from 1986 to the first half of 2021. This new design showcases the bald eagle flying whilst holding oak branches in its talons. Identifying marks of the coin surround this image.
2023-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagles arrive in PCGS protective plastic slabs. These coins are graded SP70 from the PCGS indicating no detractions of any kind with their full, original mint luster. The First Day of Issue label is for those coins received by the PCGS within 24 hours of the US Mint’s initial release.
American Silver Eagles reached a combined mintage high of nearly 48 million back in 2015. While the mintage has dropped in recent years it remains among the most popular silver coins in the world today.
