Burnished American Silver Eagles are an alternative collectible piece, alongside the proof versions of this series. This coin has been issued annually since 2006, except for 2009-2010. The United States Mint halted production on burnished versions of these coins for two years to focus all available silver blanks on BU coins, due to rising demand during the Great Recession. Now, at JM Bullion, 2023-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagles are available for purchase.
Coin Highlights:
Unlike its gold counterpart, the American Silver Eagle is only struck in a 1 oz weight. These coins are always minted in .999 fine silver. While the San Francisco Mint, Philadelphia Mint, and West Point Mint all contribute to the overall production of these coins, it’s the West Point Mint alone that houses Burnished American Silver Eagles.
The obverse of 2023-W Burnished American Silver Eagles features the timeless Walking Liberty, designed by Adolph A. Weinman. This iconic design was featured on the Half-dollar in 1916. It depicts Liberty walking into the sunset whilst the American flag is draped over her shoulder while holding oaken branches in her left arm.
2023-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagles depict the new Emily Damstra flying eagle design. This new image showcases the bald eagle in mid-flight, swooping in with an oak branch in its talons. Identifying marks of the coin surround this image.
All coins will ship in NGC protective plastic slabs. These coins are perfect specimens with no detractions of any kind and their full, original mint luster. Early release designations indicate that the coins were received for grading within the first 30 days following release by the US Mint.
