In 2021, the United States Mint offered the Morgan Silver Dollar for the first time in 100 years. In honor of the centennial of the coin’s final issue into circulation, the Morgan Silver Dollar returned in 2021 as a silver bullion coin that has grabbed the attention of numismatists. In 1878, the United States Mint resumed silver dollar coining after a five-year hiatus. The return of the silver dollar brought with it a design from George T. Morgan, who was then in just his third year as an assistant engraver at the United States Mint. The design he came up with is one of the more iconic designs from the US Mint.
All of these 2023 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are in Mint State 70 condition. Coins with this grade have full, original mint luster and bear no detracting flaws. Advanced Delivery coins are those that were originally purchased before the first day the mint publicly announced the start of sale for a particular coin.
On the obverse of the 2023 Morgan Dollar Coin, you will find George T. Morgan’s original depiction of Liberty. This left-profile relief shows Liberty with a Phrygian cap on her head, as well as a laurel wreath and a coronet crown.
The reverse side of 2023 Morgan Silver Dollars includes the image of the heraldic eagle. This depiction of the heraldic eagle shows a bald eagle in front-facing relief with spread wings. The eagle clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace, but does not include a US national shield.
