The national seal consists of a crowned shield that has a background field of horizontal lines that includes a single star set at the center. Reverse features on the 2023 1 oz Gold Elephant Coin include the all-new African bush elephant design for 2023. This year’s design shows the head of the elephant in right-profile relief.
